Germany striker Thomas Muller has announced his retirement from international football after his side lost 2-1 to Spain in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.
It was my last international game said the Bayern Munich man.
Muller also sent a message to German fans after the disappointing results writing on Instagram: I am proud to be part of this team and proud to be German. Thank you to all of you who have encouraged us and are great hosts.
The 34-year-old has enjoyed a desirable international career with the German national team. He made 131 appearances and scored 45 goals including 10 in the FIFA World Cup.
Muller played a key role in Germany success at the 2014 FIFA World Cup but it looks like his career will end without a European title.
