Brighton have confirmed the signing of Dutch midfielder Mats Wieffer from Feyenoord. The 24-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the club.
The Seagulls have reportedly paid a €30m fee for the 24-year-old signing. This is a record sale for the Eredivisie club.
Speaking on Wieffer signing Brighton technical director David Weir remarked: We delighted to welcome Mats to the club a player whose qualities we have admired for a long time.
Wieffer is a versatile midfielder who can play in any role in the middle of the park. He can also slot in as a centre-back if necessary having done so in his career.
The 24-year-old made 79 appearances for Feyenoord scoring nine goals and providing 11 assists. He has also made 9 appearances for the Netherlands national team.
