Benni McCarthy will step down as Man United first manager when his two-year contract expires at the end of this month reports The Athletic.
The former striker has been a member of Erik ten Hag coaching staff for the past two years mostly working with the club strikers.
McCarthy was praised during his first season at Old Trafford. He was partly praised for Marcus Rashford great performance in the 2022-23 campaign when he scored 30 goals in all competitions.
However the South African manager faced criticism from fans last season as Man Utd scored just 57 goals in their 38 Premier League appearances.
McCarthy will leave as part of a restructuring of Ten Hag coaching team scheduled for the coming weeks.
