INEOS led by Jim Ratcliffe has no chance around the threat of a European ban due to UEFA stance on multi-ownership.
The Independent reports that Ratcliffe is now ready to sell his stake in Ligue 1 Nice to amend the governing body.
He also wants to spend more time getting Manchester United on the road and not want to be disturbed.
Both Man United and Nice play in the Europa League next season leading to a conflict of interest. Ratcliffe was given a year to hand over the reigns.
Ratcliffe has been a part of Nice for the past five years but his loyalty is with Man United where he grew up with fans.
