The Guardian reports that Chelsea have informed Ipswich Town that they are interested in appointing Kieran McKenna as their new manager.
The 38-year-old took Ipswich from League One to the Premier League in two years and is being considered by Brighton and Man United.
Ipswich knows Chelsea interest. They wanted to keep the former Man United assistant and reportedly offered him a new deal which he was said to have turned down.
McKenna is the preferred candidate to succeed Mauricio Pochettino but Chelsea did not put all of their eggs in one basket. They also linked up with Enzo Maresca who brought Leicester back to the Premier League.
