Gavi was spotted at Barca training ground on Sunday before taking on Real Sociedad on Monday. However he did not attend the meeting.
The 19-year-old has been out of action since November after suffering an ACL and meniscus injury while playing for Spain.
Those problems mean he is unlikely to be able to play again this season but there is hope that he will improve. Timely recovery for the start of next season.
The normal healing period from an ACL injury is 7 to 9 months but adding a torn meniscus on top adds another 2 to 3 months to his healing schedule.
Even after his knee is fully heeled Gavi will need another month to return to top fitness from a football standpoint.
Therefore this teenager is nowhere near full fitness as he may have joined teammates in training to encourage them.
