Fiorentina match against Atalanta in Serie Awas suspended just hours before the start of the match. This happened because Joe Barone the director of Fiorentina suddenly got sick and had to go to the hospital.
Reports suggest he may have had a heart attack. The Italian publication suggests that Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano and captain Cristiano Biraghi have taken several others from the club to a hospital in Milan where Barone is being treated.
The meeting between the two clubs will be rescheduled. A statement from Fiorentina says it has been confirmed that the 29th week Serie A match between Atalanta and Fiorentina scheduled for today March 17 at 18:00 CET has been postponed until later.
Atalanta also shared a message on Twitter confirming the postponement of the match. They told fans not to go to Gewiss Stadium. However some fans were already there sitting in the seats upon receiving the news.
